Our commitment

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, need larger text, or prefer reduced motion.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We believe the site currently meets that standard, with the exceptions noted below.

What we have done

  • Colour contrast. Every piece of body text was measured against the background it sits on and meets the 4.5:1 minimum. Three colours were darkened during the build specifically to clear it.
  • Keyboard access. Every link, button, form field and expandable answer works from the keyboard alone, in a logical order, with a clearly visible focus outline.
  • Skip link. A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
  • Headings. One h1 per page and a heading order that never skips a level, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
  • The FAQ uses the browser’s own expandable elements, so it is announced correctly and works even if JavaScript fails.
  • The menu reports whether it is open, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
  • Form errors appear next to the field they belong to, are linked to that field for screen readers, and focus moves to the first problem when you submit.
  • Reduced motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, transitions and smooth scrolling are switched off.
  • Text and zoom. The layout is fluid and reflows to 320px without horizontal scrolling.
  • Images carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers rather than announced as clutter.

Known limitations

Being honest about what is not yet done:

  • No independent audit. The assessment below is our own. We have not yet commissioned a third-party accessibility audit or testing with disabled users.
  • The hero illustration is a detailed graphic described by a single alternative text. The description conveys the gist, not every element in it.
  • The testimonials section currently contains labelled placeholders rather than real content.

How we assessed it

Self-evaluation carried out during the build, in 2 September 2026. It combined automated checks of the page structure with manual keyboard testing, programmatic contrast measurement of every text and background pair, and inspection at mobile, tablet and desktop widths.

We have not yet tested with every combination of screen reader and browser.

Tell us when we get it wrong

If something on this site blocks you, we want to know — it is the fastest way for us to fix it. Tell us what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened.
